Hailing from Upton, on the Wirral, Mark
Roberts represents true, unfaltering
folk music. His use of altered tunings and celtic melodies provide
a
soothing and altogether ultimate acoustic music experience. The
complexed
and drifting arrangements which have become a trademark show
the dedication
he has put forth into studying the styles of his musical heroes
Ralph
McTell, Kathryn Williams and Dougie Maclean to name a few.
The music Mark writes is highly narrative, each song telling
a story. It is
beautiful music, infused with a wistful melancholy, and the
addition of his
haunting vocals on such songs as 'The Leaving of Eli', and 'The
Curlew Song'
put him at the front line of young folk musicians today.
The song ‘Angela’ was his first commercial release
on Chromium Records on
the ‘Showcase International Album 2004’ and was released
In March 2004.
After an extended break, Mark is now preparing for what looks
set to be his
most succesful year yet, with several more releases planned and
a soundtrack
in production.
Mark Roberts uses the G7th Performance Capo exclusively.
The G7th Performance Capo is a completely new approach to capo design. Using a patented wrap-spring clutch mechanism, it has none of the disadvantages of conventional guitar capos, but instead offers enhanced performance and is simple to use. Not only that, it looks and feels great
